Several celebrations honoring Latino Americans and their cultures will soon take place across Fort Worth and Tarrant County.
From charrería to lowriders to screenings of classic Mexican cinema, here’s a roundup of events starting Sept. 13 and stretching into mid-October:
Explore art that confronts Latino male stereotypes at ‘Sentimientos del Macho’ exhibition
Curator Mark Hernandez explores the emotional depth behind the word machismo and its impact on Latino male identity through visual art, film, music and mixed media. An opening reception and artist panel will be held Sept. 6.

Show pride in your heritage at ‘¡Celebramos! Latin American Flag Parade’
The Fort Worth Botanic Garden kicks off its month of celebration with a parade that invites guests to represent their country of origin. Participants are encouraged to wear traditional clothing, national sports and soccer team colors.
When: 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Sept. 13

Dance to cumbias at ‘Sonidos del Summer: Bidi Bidi Back to the Park’
Celebrate the end of summer with a free concert that honors Selena’s historic performance at Marine Park in 1993. Latin Grammy nominee Gabriella Martinez will headline the show with performances by Idania Hernández Becerra, Ballet Folklórico de Fort Worth and Allianza Mexicana Ballet Folklórico. Guests are encouraged to bring their own blankets, lawn chairs and snacks.
